Better Austin Today is working toward an Austin with a strong democracy, driven by an engaged diverse community, that achieves a prosperous, sustainable economy with opportunity for all; safe, livable, truly affordable neighborhoods; cultural vitality; social responsibility; and a healthy environment.

Our Mission

To elect officials who are responsive and accountable to our community, through building a strong, diverse coalition, developing leaders and supporting candidates who share our vision for a better Austin today.

A Progressive Coalition for Austin

We are people who love Austin and share a common vision for her future. We live in all parts of town and are active in many aspects of community life, including neighborhoods, environment, small and local business, social services, social and environmental justice, and the arts, music and film.

Coming Together For Good Government

The common thread tying Better Austin Today together is our belief that Austin government should be responsive and built on a progressive, inclusive vision for the city's future. Our government should be:
