We need a strong community force for government accountability to ensure that decisions are made in the public interest. May 2008 is our first opportunity to engage voters and support candidates who will steer a new course for our City.
Better Austin Today will endorse and support candidates for office. We will also engage the community to raise awareness of and facilitate discussion of important issues.
For those people in Austin who say that local activists have no vehicle through which we can build a movement, here's our chance to put our money where our mouth is. This group has all the makings of a rainbow coalition. Let's help this organization gather some momentum and get some community clout going in local government.
